A series of photographs conceptualized by Beck Lloyd, an actress and writer, that replaces a white female form with a black female form. These photographs are meant to create space for conversation and ask questions like, why are these images filled with a limited type of body? A limited experience? What happens if we replace the current body with a different body and their experiences? They are meant to challenge the norm and make people question what they otherwise might not. Beck was driven to recreate these photos using her likeness so she could see herself represented and to articulate what the black female form means without using words, leaving space for more types of understanding.
